Thaddeus Lamont Wills, 51, and Keionta Shawn Hagens, 44, both of Waldorf, were found guilty by a federal jury following a nine-day trial.

The pair's trail of terror began in November 2020 when a group robbed an employee at a business before stealing a 2016 Dodge Ram from their victim.

Days later, the same group used a stolen Ford F-150 to rob a second business of cash and merchandise, during which Wills and Hagens zip-tied the hands of the employee, prosecutors said.

The two then stashed the stolen pick-up trucks in the area of Brandywine.

In January 2021, court documents state that the pair forcefully took a Honda Pilot SUV that was then used to travel from Maryland into Virginia, where they robbed customers, agents, and employees of a third business.

They then took the stolen Honda back to Maryland and torched it.

Less than two weeks later, their spree came to an end when they robbed their eighth victim at the fourth business, during which the owner, John Woo Young Jang, was killed.

In order to escape after the robbery and murder, Wills used a gun to forcefully take a Lexus RX350 SUV from another victim before ultimately being tracked down and charged.

Wills and Hagens were convicted of:

  • Murder;
  • Interstate commerce by robbery;
  • Conspiracy to interfere with interstate commerce by robbery;
  • Using, carrying, and brandishing a firearm during a crime of violence;
  • Carjacking.

Both are scheduled to be sentenced in February.
